2026 Total Solar Eclipse Iceland - Small Group Mobile Chase

9 hours

Easy

Experience the path of totality like a local expert—not from a crowded bus.

On August 12, 2026, West Iceland will witness its first total solar eclipse in over 70 years. While thousands will be stuck at fixed hotel locations or on 50-person coaches, our exclusive 7-passenger minivan offers the ultimate advantage: Mobility.

Our mission is simple: We chase the clear sky. Using real-time satellite weather data and local meteorological insights, we pivot between the dramatic sea stacks of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula or the raw volcanic landscapes of Reykjanes to find the perfect "hole in the clouds."

What makes this the ultimate 2026 Eclipse experience?

  • Path of Totality Focus: We prioritize the longest possible duration of darkness (up to 2 minutes 10 seconds).
  • Weather-Ready Strategy: If the weather shifts, we move. You aren’t paying for a seat; you’re paying for a successful viewing.
  • Boutique Comfort: Skip the crowds at Kirkjufell. We head to secret, unobstructed vantage points known only to locals.
  • Expert Safety: Every guest receives ISO-certified eclipse viewing glasses and a celebratory Icelandic "Totality Toast" with local snacks.

Limited to just 7 seats. Don't leave your once-in-a-lifetime "Black Sun" moment to chance. Book your spot in the chase today.

Please note

    Physical Requirements & Accessibility

    • Moderate Mobility Required: While this is a minivan tour, finding the best "Black Sun" viewing spot may involve short walks (10–15 minutes) over uneven volcanic terrain, gravel paths, or mossy fields. This tour is not recommended for those with significant mobility challenges.
    • Not Wheelchair Accessible: Due to the nature of "chasing" the weather and the remote off-road or trail-side stops required, our vehicle and the viewing locations are not wheelchair accessible.
    • Long Duration: Guests should be comfortable sitting in a vehicle for extended periods (8–10 hours). We will make several stops, but the "chase" may require long stretches of driving to outrun cloud cover.

    Child Safety & Age Restrictions

    • Minimum Age: To ensure the best experience for all guests during this technical eclipse chase, the minimum age for this tour is 12 years old.
    • Child Seats: In accordance with Icelandic law, children under 135 cm must use a child safety seat. We provide booster seats upon request. If you require an infant or toddler seat(for children under 4 years/18kg), please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so we can ensure the correct ISOFIX-compliant seat is installed.
    • Safety First: Parents are responsible for ensuring children keep their ISO-certified eclipse glasses on during all partial phases of the event.

    Health & Comfort

    • The "Eclipse Chill": Please be aware that temperatures can drop rapidly (by 3°C to 5°C) during totality. This tour is not recommended for individuals with extreme sensitivity to cold unless properly layered.
    • No Onboard Restrooms: Our premium minivan does not have a restroom. While we plan stops at service stations, these will be extremely crowded on Eclipse Day. We recommend using facilities before departure.
    • Motion Sickness: If you are prone to motion sickness, please come prepared with medication. The "chase" may involve driving on winding coastal roads in the Snæfellsnes or Reykjanes regions.

    The "Chase" Disclaimer

    • Weather & Totality: Our mission is to put you in the path of totality under clear skies. While we use real-time satellite data to maximize our chances, weather in Iceland is unpredictable. No refunds are issued if the eclipse is obscured by clouds, as the tour cost covers the specialized logistics, guide expertise, and transport for the day.
    What to bring

What to Bring for Your "Black Sun" Chase

To ensure you have the best experience while we navigate the Icelandic wilderness, please come prepared with the following:

      • Layered "Three-Layer" Clothing: Even in August, Iceland’s temperature can drop significantly during the eclipse (the "Eclipse Chill"). We recommend a base layer (wool or synthetic), an insulating mid-layer (fleece or down), and a waterproof/windproof outer shell.
      • Sturdy, Waterproof Footwear: We may scout viewing spots on uneven volcanic rock, mossy fields, or coastal cliffs. Hiking boots or sturdy sneakers with good grip are essential.
      • A Packed "Eclipse Picnic": Because we are prioritizing the sky over restaurant stops, we will be avoiding crowded service stations. Please bring a packed lunch, high-energy snacks, and a refillable water bottle. (We provide light local snacks and a celebratory toast).
      • Photography Gear & Solar Filters: If you plan to photograph the partial phases, you must have a dedicated solar filter for your lens to avoid damaging your sensor. A tripod is highly recommended for the low-light "totality" moment.
      • Fully Charged Power Bank: Between GPS, photos, and live eclipse updates, phone batteries drain quickly in the cool Icelandic air.
      • Sunglasses and Sunscreen: The Arctic sun is powerful, especially while waiting for the main event near the ocean or reflective lava fields.
      • Your Sense of Adventure: This is a "Mobile Chase." We may drive several hours to outrun cloud cover, so a flexible and positive mindset is your best asset!
